How can Art Therapy help
Art therapy allows for creative imagery to express things that cannot be expressed through words alone. Depression, anxiety, trauma, grief… these are experiences that might be very difficult to ever discuss, let alone with a therapist. Expressing our thoughts and emotions visually allows for the integration on a new level and helps us see options or remember ways that we have thrived. Sometimes, expressing things visually lets us to see in a new way what we’re working with and allows us to open up in the moment or have a long, overdue cry. We begin to have discussions with our creations and learn new ways of problem solving and emotional integration.
